RECAP

- Bang Jackson began his music career as an artist, initially signing to an independent label before transitioning to marketing and behind-the-scenes work at music labels.

- At 40, Bang took a DJing fundamentals course to perform at his own birthday party, sparking a newfound passion for DJing, through which he emphasizes respecting DJs as crucial in the music industry.

- Committed to building community, Bang's mentorship of up and coming DJs, is shaped by his journey as an underdog, who had to navigate the music industry with minimal guidance and now helps other DJs find success.

- Recognizing a lack of community for DJs in LA, Bang dedicated himself to managing and promoting DJs, giving lesser-known talents a platform to showcase their potential.

- He notes that he prefers working with women DJs, finding them more collaborative and less ego-driven compared to their male counterparts, thus creating a fun and effective working environment.

- As the founder of Five6ixteen Sounds and DJ Disney Day, Bang strives to showcase emerging artists and lead innovative events like DJ cruises and Carnivals.

- His background includes music curation at BPM Supreme and marketing roles at Strange Music Inc., where he continues to highlight the reach and influence of grassroots-level DJs.

- Bang has been key in providing opportunities for DJ underdogs to shine, demonstrating their significant impact and reach within the music scene.

- Bang's approach fosters a nurturing environment for new talent, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and community in the evolving DJ and music world.
